This July I'll be running the 'Lakeland 50'. This '50' is in miles - that means 80 kilometers of mountainous terrain! My furthest run before October 2018 was 10 kilometers:- a challenge!
I will be raising money for Epic Kidz, the charity associated with the event. You can choose to donate to DrugFam or Crohns & Colitis UK too.Epic Kidz operates in the region of the Lakeland 50 & 100 and provides small grants to volunteer groups organising outdoor activities for children.
With government cuts to social care budgets the burden on some Carers is becoming overwhelming. Long ignored are those family members and carers who have a loved one with drug and alcohol problems. DrugFam provides a forum for mutual support. Families need help too!They look like everyone else, but with a chronic illness those with Crohns and Colitis can have debilitating physical and mental problems from time to time. Crohns and Colitis UK provide a range of services for sufferers including support groups, advocacy, and the distribution of research information.
