Gill touched many lives. She was loved by many and she returned that love with interest. She was blessed with an amazing joie de vivre. She laughed a lot and had an infectious sense of fun.
Tragically, in September 2013 Gill was diagnosed with advanced metastasised cancer. The primary cancer was undetictible but was likely to have been in the gall bladder. The cancer was judged by specialists to be incurable but amenable to palliative treatment.
Gill determined to do everything in her power to delay the inevitable. She subjected herself to chemotherapy and radiotherapy; she took natural immune system boosting remedies; she maintained an excellent diet and took exercise; and, most importantly, she remained positive and outgoing. She encouraged family and friends to pray for her, to send her positive vibes via the ether, or do whatever their belief system suggested they should do. As a result, against the background of an appalling prognosis, Gill lived to celebrate a further two birthdays.
