Rachel died on the 7th January 2015 age 36, after a 2 year battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer.
Throughout her life, there were two causes that were very close to Rachel’s heart – Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Christian Aid.
She so much wanted to help the experts find a way of reducing the very high risks associated with Triple Negative Breast Cancer and often said that she hoped other young women might be spared the painful and exhausting symptoms she lived with so uncomplainingly. Breakthrough Breast Cancer have a fund specifically dedicated to Triple Negative Breast Cancer and are pioneering world-leading research into this cancer.
Rachel also cared deeply about the causes for which she had worked so hard at Christian Aid. Her photos reflect the enormous care she took to share the stories she collected and the impact people around the world had made on her. She spent 10 years working at Christian Aid and was a strong believer in all that is stands for.
