Having spent an accumulative 14 years in the Oxford bubble, culminating in a combined 20 job rejections, we thought we'd have more luck taking on the Indian subcontinent than our previous assault on the City.

With the prospect of limited time before the inevitable crawl back to join the rat race, we decided to embark upon a doubtlessly idiotic and certainly stupid adventure traversing the length of the Indian west coast.

Moreover, in the spirit of cultural engagement, we thought it would only be apt to partake in such a journey via rickshaw, or two. Meet a three week adventure - where five mechanically inept friends try to tackle the Indian west coast with no support and no idea how to even change a tyre.

With no India experience between us we sought opinions from our more well-travelled peers. However, when the wisest Indian traveller of them all promptly said 'You'll die' we decided if this was to be the case, we may as well make some money for charity whilst doing it...

To this end, we are supporting a charity very close to the team, Broomwood in Ethiopia, which provides schooling to underprivileged and orphaned kids. Much more detail can be found on their fundraising page. Needless to say as a small charity, any funds we can raise really makes a big difference to what they are able to achieve, so please give generously.

As you will see we have set an ambitious fundraising target of £5000. In order to try and help us achieve this target we will be holding a number of fundraising events over the next six months so keep your eyes peeled for those! We are also always looking for new ideas – so if you have any brainwaves please do get in touch!

Now for those of you who took one look at the team photo and instantly just wanted to know more about the story behind each elusive character, it's your lucky day - meet the team...

Pauly B (Boy, centre) - core contribution to the team - having long enough arms to take a group selfie...

Fiona (small face, bottom left) - biggest worry in India- sunburn. I once got sunburnt in February...in England

Gee (Can't see it but I'm ginger, bottom right) - biggest fear = spicy food. This can only go well...

Hellie (Floating head, top left) - least likely to actually be allowed to drive rickshaw given that I don't have a driving license - eek!

Alice/Rockstar (One with the lazy eye, top right) - Token second year with absolutely no knowledge of how to even change a tyre...

We'll be heading off end of December and completing our route (hopefully!) by the end of January. We would love you to follow our journey together with us and in keeping with the modern times we have adopted the whole spectrum of social media. Feel free to add / follow / share / obsess over whatever or every medium you fancy.
