TechQuarters are now supporting a new charity. Our chosen Charity is the Alzheimer’s Society and Rowly is our company mascot. He travels the world in style with all our TechQuarters friends and family, helping to promote the cause. You can follow Rowly’s latest travels on his very own Facebook page.
Why we chose Alzheimer’s
We decided on the Alzheimer’s charity because Chris’ Dad, Rowland Dunning recently passed away and sadly suffered from Vascular Dementia during his latter years.
Vascular dementia is the second most common form of dementia after Alzheimer’s disease. It is caused by problems in the supply of blood to the brain.
Vascular dementia affects different people in different ways and the speed of the progression varies from person to person. Typically, the symptoms of vascular dementia begin suddenly, for example after a stroke. Vascular dementia often follows a ‘stepped’ progression, with symptoms remaining at a constant level for a time and then suddenly deteriorating. Some symptoms may be similar to those of other types of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s disease.
So if you are feeling a little generous, help us support a great cause by donating on one of our team members listed below.
