In 2012 three employees decided to undertake a charity ride to raise funds for cancer care following their own personal experiences. In riding coast to coast, a distance of 180 miles over two days the group raised nearly £3000.
As this challenged ended the group decided that it should be an annual event.
Last year 22 employees and a couple of friends took on the challenge to ride "Coast to Coast and Back":
A group of road cyclists rode over 200 miles from Tynemouth in Northumberland on the east coast to Silloth in Cumbria on the west coast... and back the following day.
A second group of mountain bikers rode "Coast to Coast" mainly off-road, covering a distance in excess of 100 miles across the two days.
The whole event raised in excess of £7,500 for a cancer care charity.
