Kieran, Ricky, Aneil, Hardev, Pav, Sanjay, Rohan, James and Jazzy will be partaking in the North West Tough Mudder Challenge on 8th September 2018, hoping to raise money for our three chosen charities The Anaphylaxis Campaign, Cancer Research and Alzheimer’s Research UK. All are very worthwhile causes and each is very close to our hearts with close members of our families being affected by them.
The Anaphylaxis Campaign is a British charity which offers support to everyone affected by anaphylaxis and other sever allergies. Anaphylaxis is a severe and potentially life threatening reaction to foods such as nuts, milk, eggs, shellfish, fish, sesame seeds and more.
Cancer Research, pioneers research to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured whilst offering support to those affected by this illness. With no government funding and a not-for-profit organisation, the society depends wholly on charitable donations.
Alzheimer’s Research is the third of our chosen charities. Again as the other two charities, we have family and friends that have been affected directly. Dementia is caused by illnesses such as Alzheimer’s disease or vascular dementia but there are other types too. There are no medicines to cure dementia at the moment - only ones to help with day to day life. Raising money for Alzheimer’s Research will help scientists and doctors to develop and test potential new treatments.
We cannot think of a better way to raise money and awareness for all of our chosen charities than us getting out of our comfort zones and taking on the 10mile 20+ muddy obstacle course!
