Berkshire Sands have fundraised to have a Memorial Tree sited at Ray Mill Island, in Maidenhead, where parents and families can go to remember their babies. There is currently no baby loss memorial like this project within Berkshire. The tree is sculpted from steel and bereaved families will be able to have their babies names engraved onto leaves which can be attached, as a lasting memory. Berkshire Sands will also use the space as a place to hold local events, such as Rainbow picnics and Memorial services.

All the funds raised will be designated for the purpose of Berkshire Sands Memorial Tree Project, engraved memorial leaves and general upkeep of the tree. . Once this project is fully funded and its £7,500 target reached, any excess will be spent where the need is greatest, helping Sands to continue to deliver its vital services to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, to improve the bereavement care received by parents and families, and to promote research to reduce the number of babies dying.
