Welcome to our page. We're teaming up this year to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research all year (almost).
The first goal is to run the Lakes in a Day ultramarathon on October 13th, a 50-mile run across the entirety of the Lake District from top (Caldbeck) to bottom (Cartmel) over whatever happens to be in the way - in this case, Blencathra and Helvellyn amongst other things! But we don't just want to do it; we'd like to run it in somewhere around 15 hours.
Obviously, this is going to be horrendous. So we've organised an almost year-long training programme which will take in two other achivements. 1) The Calderdale Trail marathon on June 3rd. 2) A training programme that will see us pass 2,018 k each of running in 2018.
It's fair to say that it's going to be a challenging year, but worth it for an excellent cause (and a significant sense of achievement at the end of the year!)
If you think that all sounds sufficiently mental, then we hope you will support us with a small donation. We will update this page regularly with progress, and Simon will be writing a weekly blog to document, amongst other things, the long Sunday runs (link to follow).
Thanks!
Simon and Tom
