Just Giving doesn't split donations between the 2 hospitals, so we have had to create an 'event' page for each one. Please give to whichever hospital you prefer but if you did want them both to receive an amount, please split your donation and post on each page separately **

Thomas was born on the 2nd July 2019 with the very rare and complex condition - Congenital Hyperinsulinism.
Despite a valiant fight where the GOSH doctors called him a warrior, he died 48 days later on the 19th August. Although only 6 weeks and 6 days old, it feels like he was here for a lifetime. He has changed us all forever.
If it wasn't for the midwife, doctors, nurses and their skills and care, and the equipment provided by our wonderful NHS, we may not have even had Thomas for the time that we did.
We will be forever grateful.
We have therefore set up this team fundraising page with 2 event pages, to raise money for both hospitals where Thomas was expertly cared for (our local hospital where Thomas was born and looked after for 2 weeks and Great Ormond Street where Thomas spent 5 weeks).
We want other babies like Thomas to survive (with advancements in medicine or understanding, diagnosis and treatment of CHI and associated conditions) or at least to be cared for in the same way, and for the lives of the families to be made as easy as possible. So if we can raise enough money to fill every family room with tea, coffee and milk, or we can buy a new dialysis machine, or we can pay towards some parents accommodation - it doesn’t matter what, but we will know Thomas made that happen.
