We are reaching out on behalf of a group of around 28 individuals who are organising a bike ride from London to Brighton in order to raise money for charity. We call ourselves the Wacky Races Crew (for reasons that will be touched upon) and we need your help to raise money to help those battling Cancer. However rather than riding in support of the bigger charities we are looking to raise money for the St Clare’s Hospice in Hastingwood, Essex (http://www.stclarehospice.org.uk/).
The reason for choosing St Clare’s is due to the excellent manner in which they looked after a very good friend of ours who passed away from Cancer earlier this year, our friend Nicolas who was better known to many of us as Mutley (hence the group’s name; Wacky Races) received amazing care and support at the hospice, in fact the level of care and support is something that made a big impression on all of us.
Hospices like St Clare’s often operate under the radar so to speak and need all the support they can garner, the personal aspect of the care they provide for Cancer sufferers and their families is truly amazing. So please donate what you can to help St Clare’s and by extension help us to honour the memory of our friend who’s life and love has inspired so many of us.
