After our Dad passed away last year, we thought it was fitting to sign up to participate in the London to Brighton Bike ride on Father's Day 2013 just a few days before the first anniversary of his death.
Our Dad liked his challenges a little more exotic (run a marathon - sure but let’s do it in Barbados) but those of you who know us will know this is a challenge for us!
Thanks to an angioplasty and a cocktail of drugs not least his 'rat poison', Dad was able to live a full life after his first 'brush' with cardiac 'trouble' over 12 years ago. There was a time not long ago when these years would not have been as easy. Back in the 80's and 90's our Nan also benefitted from new cardiac treatments (bypass and angioplasty) which enabled us to have her in our lives for longer.
Amongst our extended family and friends we know of many lives touched, troubled and tragically shortened through cardiac disease. The work the BHF do to support patients and their families is invaluable. So in memory of our Dad, we will celebrate the years we had with him that we may not have done without the work of the BHF.
Please support us by supporting them and donating what you can.
Thank you!
