planitgreen provides environmental and economical IT solutions and as part of our core values we believe in giving back and as part of this initiative we support the Starlight Children’s Foundation and thus we have launched giveitgreen.
Starlight brightens the lives of terminally ill children by granting them a once in a lifetime wish but to do this they need funding. planitgreen already donate 25p to the Starlight Foundation per toner sold to enable them to carry on with their noble work, but we want to give more.
All Starlight’s activities are aimed at distracting children from the pain, fear, and isolation that is often felt because of an ongoing illness. Any money given goes towards granting these children’s once in a lifetime wish and entertaining a further 500,000 hospitalised children nationwide.
Throughout 2013 several members of the planitgreen team will be participating in a variety of different charity events to raise money for Starlight children’s charity. From a 9 day trek in Peru to a football match down the road near Heathrow, the planitgreen team are committed to going the extra mile for charity.
Eight members of the planitgreen team will be participating in the RICOH Cup on the 10th of March. For every goal they score, planitgreen will donate £5 to Starlight and if the planitgreen team win the match, the money will be doubled. The team are aiming to raise £250 through goal scoring.
The Giving continues
Back in October 2012, three members of Staff at planitgreen ran the Windsor half marathon raising a total of £1150 for the Starlight Foundation and are committed to raising more. Later on this year, Damian, another member of the team, will be going on a 9 day trek from Choquequirao to Machu Picchu in Peru to raise money for the cause and in July another staff member will be participating in a 114 mile bike ride around Yorkshire.
planitgreen team member James will be participating in the one of the toughest events on the planet, the Tough Mudder event. This is a hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle course designed by British Special Forces to test strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie.
