On Saturday 27th June I will be taking part in the 12k Total Warrior race in Leeds. For anyone who has been around me during the last 6 months you will know I have trained EXTREMELY hard for this and discovered a new found love of lifiting heavy things! But most importantly I would love to use this opportunity to raise money for two important charities for me. It was a little difficult to set up for two charities, so if possible can you please split your donation! Thanks!
I chose Parkinson's UK as it is illness that affects my family after my uncle was diagnosed with it and the charity funds research into possible cures and also provides support for those living with Parkinson's and their families.
I also chose Kickstart TYA Cancer Support. It was set up by the mum of me and my brother's friend Emily who lost her fight with leukaemia at the age of 19. The aims of the charity are to :
1) To promote and protect the physical and mental health of sufferers of cancer in primarily but not exclusively to, age 16-24 year olds in the Hull, East Riding and North Lincolnshire area, through the provision of financial assistance, support, education and practical advice.
2) To advance the education of the general public in all areas relating to young adult cancer.
