Whenever we do a performance, we are asked if we charge a fee. The short answer, is 'no'! However, we realised we are missing an opportunity here. So from now on, we will ask event organisers to donate whatever they can afford to one or all of our charities in lieu of a fee. Good idea, huh?!
The first charity is the UK Sepsis Trust, personally chosen by Musical Director Amy Sapwell. This is very personal to Amy as she has recently lost her Father-in-law to Sepsis. Through this, she has learnt that Sepsis kills 37,000 people a year in the UK alone - and yet we never hear anything about it!
Our other two charities were chosen by the choir members themselves by a survey. They chose Cornwall Hospice Care and Children's Hospice South West - two amazing and vital charities I am sure you will agree.
Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 25%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.
