Katy died when she was only 10 years old from a brain tumour that she battled for only 3 months. We have discovered that brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40 in the UK. Research is extremely poorly funded by Government so the Katy Holmes Trust aims to fund the research too.
Katy had always wanted to climb Kilimanjaro after watching celebrities on Comic Relief climb it. Katy's mum Paula promised Katy that they'd do it one day but sadly Katy died. Paula has set up this challenge to keep part of her promise to Katy. "This will be the closest i can get to Katy without being in a plane".
