Please help us make a small but important difference to the safety of our children and well being of friends, family and community members who are disabled.
If our combined efforts can change the life of one child or one disabled person, if we could put a smile on one person's face, then the rest is history...
We are a bunch of ' happy go lucky' colleagues from Barclays and Grass Roots who have joined forces to raise money for charity.
As such , we have taken on us the challenge to walk non - stop for 20 miles in the Forest of Dean on the 20th of May 2011, to raise money for three great causes :
Action for Children, Kidscape and Guide Dogs (Canine Partners).
Although it was hard for us to single out these three charities, we have decided to focus this time on the welfare of our children and the independence of disabled people.
Action for Children supports and speaks out for the most vulnerable and neglected children and young people in the UK.
They also support children and families with the most difficult problems and are the largest provider of family support services in the UK.
Kidscape is committed to keeping children safe from abuse. Kidscape is the first charity in the UK established specifically to prevent bullying and child sexual abuse. Kidscape believes that protecting children from harm is key. They provide :
A Helpline offering support and advice to parents of bullied children.
Dedicated social workers who spend time with children and their parents to help them overcome bullying and abuse.
Guide Dogs (Canine Partners) is an amazing charity which helps people with disabilities to enjoy a greater independence and a better quality of life .
More than 1.2 million people in the UK use a wheelchair, and a significant number of those would benefit from a canine partner. Guide Dogs (Canine Partners) trains their dogs to each person’s individual needs.
The dogs are trained to help disabled people with everyday tasks such as opening and shutting doors, unloading the washing machine, picking up dropped items, pressing buttons and switches and getting help in an emergency.
You'll see our team fundraising target on the right. Your donation can really help us smash this goal.
You can help us by donating towards all three charities or towards one of them.
