We've joined together to raise money for Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust.
Every year in the UK around 3,000 women will be diagnosed with cervical cancer.
Neils wife Jo was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer in February of 2018. "Finding out she had a large cancerous tumour was an absolute blow to us but with the amazing treatment and support Jo has come out the other end fighting fit. Her journey continues with some after effects of chemoradiation but all considering she is doing fantastic. Jo considers herself 'one of the lucky ones'. Going through this journey with Jo spurred me on to do something as a way of helping others"
Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust has helped Jo in so many ways from coping with her diagnoses to going through treatment and beyond. Jo has had access to 'meet up' support groups, online forums & blogs, helpline & expert advice, and access to so much valuable information.
Bugbrooke Rugby Club are backing and supporting this worth while cause. With the majority of the riders being linked to the club, news of this event has spread with over 50 people committed to doing the 3 day cycle. The club are fundraising to help fund the ride, assisting with sponsorships, transport, physiotherapy, and have created a wonderful support team. We have even organised an 18 tonne lorry to transport the bikes back to Northampton.
Northampton Saints and Exeter Chiefs are also supporting this cause. The Saints have already put the nor2exe event in their match day programme versus Exeter at Christmas and going to put Jo's Cervical Cancer logo on their match day shirts against Bath.
Exeter Chiefs have agreed to coach the Bugbrooke Mini's on the morning of the Exeter vs Saints Match on the 18th May...the day after the cycle. With almost 300 of us being at Exeter for this match, we aim to raise so much hype and awareness as well as having an absolute blast.
