One Mile Closer was founded by friends and family of adventurers Rob Gauntlett and James Atkinson, who died in a climbing accident on Mont Blanc on January 9th 2009.
Rob and James achieved more in their 21 years than many of us dream in a lifetime, and they devoted their time to assisting and inspiring others, including many schoolchildren, to challenge themselves, follow their dreams and believe in possibility and opportunity.
Since 2009, over 100 cyclists of all ages and abilities, have joined the One Mile Closer peloton and cycled thousands of miles to raise money for Nalango Secondary School in Uganda.
