I am a 23 year old with two medical conditions. One is Porphyia and the other, Epilepsy.
The irony of my situation is that I am unable to take most Epilespy medication due to having Porphyria. By raising funds of Epilepsy Research UK, it means more medications and trials can be made and tested and can help people like me in the future by expanding what drugs are on offer.
Porphyria is a very rare blood disease, and it nearly cost me life in mid 2017. Due to doctors not knowing much about it, I want to raise as much awareness as possible and help the British Porphyria Association in their studies of undertanding the disease better.
The triathlon that I am partaking is on 10th June 2018 and is 800m swim, 25.5km cycle and a 5k run. This is a challenege for me, but I am determined to finish it.
I would like to set a realistic goal of £100 to each charity. I hope friends and family will get involved to make this a reality.
