Team Running for the 35000

In December 2016 my mum was diagnosed with Secondary Breast Cancer. Just a few months before that our close friend Alison had also been diagnosed.

Sadly Alison died 8 months after diagnosis.

Secondary Breast cancer is incureable and kills over 1100 women per year in the UK. Average life expectancy of metastatic breast cancer is 2-3 years and its estimated there are approximately 35000 women currently living with this disease in the UK.

I recently decided to try and raise awareness of Secondary Breast Cancer and to raise money for our local Maggie's Centre and Breast Cancer Care by running several events including an ultra marathon.

Thankfully a few other people have also offered to help me in my fundraising efforts and so team Running for the 35000 is here!

We have 2 teams of 4 entering the EMF relay in May and I hope together we can smash our fundraising target for both Maggie's and Breast Cancer Care.

The relay follows the marathon route with the 26.2 miles split between 4 runners.
