Rupert has a crocodile in his tummy and he’s got to put all his will & might into fighting it. The lines that connect to his veins are his fishing lines which he will use to slay that crocodile.
When 3 year old Rupert was first diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer, Rupert’s Mum came up with a very imaginative way to describe his illness!
Neuroblastoma is a tumour arising from particular nerve cells, which run in a chain-like fashion up the back of the child’s abdomen and chest and into the skull following the line of the spinal cord. The tumour occurs either in the sympathetic nervous system or closely associated adrenal glands and is usually, although not always, located in the abdomen.
To raise the awareness of Rupert’s cancer and funds for Cancer Research, we’re embarking on a 1,500 mile banger rally from Bridgnorth to Monte Carlo. The challenge is that we can only spend £300 on our chosen mode of transport.
