Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.
We are a group of 4 friends who have joined together to take on the Trailwalker in 2017.
The challenge - 100km of walking (62.5miles in old money) across the South Downs Way in less than 30 hours, in order to raise money for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust.
Our team of 4 consists of Dan Ashby, Vicky Ashby, Emma Burlingham and Stuart McAviney, and we are hoping to raise £1400 for these wonderful causes while taking on this challenge.
So why are we doing this? Well all of us love the great outdoors, but more importantly we all like to do our bit to help other people and this is an opportunity for us all to help hundreds of people less fortunate than ourselves.
Will it be easy? Absoloutely not! I took on this challenge back in 2011 and had to pull out after 21 straight hours of walking. Believe me, it's no walk in the park (though it is technically a long walk in a National Park!).
So if you feel you can help us to help others, please offer us your support. We understand times are tough, and even if you can only spare £1 you will still be pushing us in the right direction.
Make sure to keep checking back on this page to see how we are progressing with reaching our target, and in the near future keep an eye out for the official team Facebook and Twitter pages.
Together we will take on this challenge...and win!
