This year, on the summer solstice, 21 June 2011, yoga enthusiasts around the world will unite for one hour and practice the sun salutation.
We're doing it for the fun of coming together... and to raise money for SolarAid, a charity that is helping the poorest people – 1.5 billion of whom have no access to electricity - to harness the sun. This is a mass global yoga event open to people of all ages; from accomplished yogis to beginners. This is a great opportunity for yoga centres and independent teachers around the world to organise an event to raise the profile and health benefits of Yoga - and the availibilty of their local classes while simultaneously helping the world's poorest people to access clean, renewable electricity.
This global event plans to raise £20,000 for SolarAid. Pre-register your event or your participation at www.sunsaluteforsolaraid.org. Pay £10 on the day to participate and ask friends and family to sponsor you by setting up an individual just giving page.
