After one too many vinos and two too many cocktails we have decided to take part in the Hotelympia 10K on 26/02/2012 to raise money for The Clink Charity and we'd really appreciate your support. Team members are Petra and Alex from Custard, Toby and Sonja from Fresh Montgomery and Chris Moore, Chief Executive of The Clink Charity.
We all absolutely hate running, and are rubbish at it but this is a fabulous cause and we're up for the challenge! The 10K run takes place in London on Sunday 26th February, the morning of the show opening at ExCeL, London.
Custard Communications currently provide PR and Marketing support to the charity and as part of our commitment to their work, we would like to raise as much money as possible to support the rehabilitation of at least one Clink graduate this year.
The aim of The Clink Charity is to reduce re-offending rates of ex-offenders by training and placing graduates upon their release into the hospitality industry. The charity represents a genuine opportunity for change, offering prisoners the chance to gain food preparation, food service and cleaning qualifications as well as experience within an exciting, operational business and in-depth guidance to find full-time employment within the hospitality industry upon release.
The 10k run provides an opportunity for everyone in the industry to raise money for Springboard (who work with The Clink by mentoring ex-offenders and supporting them throughout their employment journey). We will be raising money to get funding to support the rehabilitation of at least one prisoner this year.
