Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page for Dave, Jean, Rachel, Emma & Antony, where each of us are trying to fundraise £60 for the charity which will be added to our continued fundraising target each year.
Our family have joined together again this year (2020) to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK by taking part in our own 5 mile walk in beautiful Cornwall.
So why are we raising money for Bowel Cancer UK? Well the Hobbs papa bear (Dave) was diagnosed in 2011 with stage 3 bowel cancer. Dave overcome his cancer but lives with the lasting effects of his treatment.
The Hobbs family had barely got over Dave's hurdle when in January 2012, the family were devasted when their daughter's husband (son in law) Martyn Matthews; aged only 31, was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer and sadly died in October 2014. Martyn's wife Emma Matthews (Hobbs) has continued on his fight to help raise awareness of this terrible disease to others - especially in the young and with the help of her family and friends, make Marty's memory live on by supporting this fantastic charity.
