Kerry lived in the Holderness area for the majority of her life. She had two children. Lewis her son, born prematurely, resulting in him having learning and physical disabilities, and later, a daughter, Georgia. Kerry was an avid advocate for the disabled, and those unable to care for themselves.
After being diagnosed with cancer, she channelled her energies into raising awareness of Breast Cancer, and assisting others who had been diagnosed, by supporting, motivating, and fund-raising.
Kerry refused to be defined by her illness, and even though she knew what her particular prognosis would mean, she lived her life to the full, and continued to be an inspiration to those around her. She would never have described herself as being special, or extraordinary in any way, but that is how others saw her.
She fought bravely for 7 years. Following her death in February 2013, the Kerry Key Foundation was formed in her name, a registered charity, in an endeavour to continue her charitable work.
A number of staff at Withernsea High School, including some who have personal links to Kerry, will be running this year's Hull 10K to raise money to further support Kerry's legacy.
Thank you very much in advance for any donation you can make which will help us reach our target.
