Having invested significantly in thickly padded shorts and Sudocreme, on Saturday 21st July four intrepid MAMILS (middle-aged-men-in-Lycra), collectively known as The Pacemakers, will set off on a gruelling cycle journey over 10 days from Land's End to John O'Groats, covering a total distance of over 1,000 miles and climbing nearly twice the height of Everest.
There can be few of us whose lives have not been touched by cancer at some point, whether personally or through the suffering or loss of a loved one.
The intrepid peddlers are Gerry Twardzik, Steven Smith (both of Premier Financial Management), Steve Simpkins and Keith McDougall.
Our objectives are simple: to enjoy the journey (lets see!) and at the same time raise some funds for two cancer related charities. One that hopes to find better treatments and a cure for cancer and the other which helps provide respite and peace for those who are battling this terrible disease. I have seen first hand the wonderful work that they do.
We'd be most grateful if you could donate generously and help us reach our target.
Please Note: Just Giving require that we have separate pages for each charity and so donations need to be made individually on each page if you would like to support one or both charities (see links below).
Thank you
Gerry
