Training is now well underway as RSMA staff, along with members of the Association and Highways Magazine staff and readers attempt to push themselves to the very limit by taking on the Three Peaks Challenge.
As part of the build up to the attempt every participant has been issued with a 15 week training plan as they prepare for the attempt, which many have already begun in earnest.
This challenge involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours and is not one for the faint hearted.
The challenge starts in Scotland at Ben Nevis, which at, 1,344 metres, or 4,409 ft is the tallest of the three.
From there the expedition will drive south into the Lake District where they climb Scafell Pike (978 m, 3,209 ft).
The final of the three is the Welsh mountain, Snowdon, standing at no less than 1,085 m, 3,560 ft.
The group will set off on 7th June 2013 led by RSMA National Director George Lee, with the aim of raising money for Alzheimers Research UK, the UK’s leading research charity specializing in finding preventions, treatments and a cure for dementia.
