Iʼve raised £1,000 to help keep the community project Queen's Park Families going

    Story

Queen’s Park Families is a FREE, community-led drop-in session for families in Queen’s Park, north Westminster, with children aged 0-4 years. Every Wednesday morning 40-50 children and their parents and carers meet for creative play, singing, informal chats and socialising over tea and cake.

In an area with high levels of social deprivation, and cuts to early years services, one parent has called Queen’s Park Families ‘an absolute life line’ while another has said they are an 'invaluable means of giving me and baby energy and motivation to get on with the day.'

Please help us to ensure that these sessions continue.

With your help to reach our crowdfunding target of £1000, Queen’s Park Families will carry on until early 2017, giving us time to source longer-term funding solutions. We will use the funds to cover the costs of our specialist music-leader, venue hire, and administration. This will ensure that we can continue providing the local residents with young children a safe, inspiring and social environment in which to meet, learn and play. These weekly sessions also encourage parents to develop peer support networks and friendships within the local community.

So please help us with any donations - however big or small - to keep Queen's Park Families community project going.

    Thank You.

      Update from the Page owner

Just as our crowdfunding campaign for Queen’s Park Families closed at midnight we received a final donation which allowed us to hit our target of £1000. The money raised will go straight into sustaining this community-led creative project for parents/carers with young children. As a result of this success, the weekly sessions will now continue through to early summer 2017, which was looking impossible a month ago. A big thank you to everyone who has contributed to this campaign we are very grateful for your support. See you at a session soon!

Our free drop-in session for local families of north Westminster offers free play, musical activities and creative workshops for the children and adults to take part in. Here's one quote from a happy regualr attendee - "The music awakens the senses of my child"

This project goes from strength to strength. The leadership is phenomenal and the volunteer/employees make the weekly drop-ins a highlight for my little boy's week. Thank you, long may it continue!
