Iʼve raised £140 to create an exhibition about Storm Desmond's impact on Grasmere & its community & the re-building of A591 re-connecting it to Keswick.

    Story

Since Storm Desmond struck, flooding Grasmere & destroying a part of the A591, I have updated a Facebook page, called Grasmere Village.

This has included shooting short videos, taking progress images & providing information updates about the on-going situation as it has impacted Grasmere. All of this has been done on a voluntary basis and has included documenting the creation of transport links links across "the Gap" in the A591. So far the pages have had 3.6 Million impressions & the videos have over 330,000 views.

I want to turn the content into an exhibition about the storm and its impact on Grasmere & the wider community as well as the re-building of the A591 linking Grasmere back with Keswick.

The events of the last five months are a wonderful piece of Grasmere's living history, with visits from the Army, local MP's, flood envoys, the PM, the Prince and the involvement of the local community, Grasmere school, local businesses, council officials & the wider Cumbria business community. Culminating in the road re-opening, if it's on schedule, on May 13th.

So if you love Grasmere like me, & have liked the updates, then I'm asking for your support. Any amount will be appreciated, the more we can raise the bigger & better the exhibition will be.

    Thanks in advance.
    Martin.
    Grasmere.

Thank you to those that contributed, I am currently looking at other sources of funding and am in discussion with a number of organisations that may help get this project off the ground. More information will be posted here as and when there is progress to report.
