Iʼve raised £50 to Support A Trip to Gambia In Awareness of Poverty
- Funded on Sunday, 11th September 2016
Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
An aspiring group of 16-19 year old`s have been given the opportunity in going to Gambia as part of Young Hackney in order to raise awareness about poverty.
The aim is to go to Gambia for a fortnight in October to support the community by:
Renovating a local school,
Completing a Gardening project to support local Farmers,
Supporting a Cycle project to support efficiency of markets.
We have been raising money over the last few months with car washes, sponsored walks and many more organised events.
Last summer YGG raised money to travel to Hungary to spread the word on homelessness and as the focus this year was on Gambia it was a lot closer to the members of the team causing us to put more work in when looking for donations due to the increase in costs and distance.
A trip to Gambia would be a life changing experience for all involved and a new perspective on the contrast of life in less advantaged places in the world and give them a new view on life.
The group would also be working toward their duke of Edinburgh Gold award
This will be our TOUGHEST target yet and ANY donation will mean a lot to us toward our goal.
Thank You for your time ;)
