Story
West End star, Louise Plowright, has Pancreatic Cancer. Following major surgery two years ago, the cancer has now recurred and can now only be treated with an advanced genetic vaccine not available in the UK. Dr Woo-Chul Moon of the Seoul National University Cancer Hospital can treat her straight away, and time is of the essence, but it will cost £140,000 which she urgently needs to raise.

10 years agoDear friends, family, theatre companies and devotees of Louise. There are no words to express my personal gratitude to you all for making such a success of the campaign to #savelouise from the grip of her pancreatic cancer. From the outset and on hearing the UK news that all that was available was palliative care and chemotherapy, my sister decided that this was not acceptable. Research led her to find the people who could improve her chances of success. As you all know the cost was estimated at £140,000 for the first year of treatment and Louise was in the process of selling her home when my husband suggested we ask the community via Just Giving. We have been literally blown away by your incredible response. Through you all we have raised £150,000 through this site and by direct donations. Special mention must be given to the London West End Theatres (especially Mamma Mia and Wicked) who between them found £90,000 to help "One of their own". Thank you all so very much.

10 years ago****STOP PRESS**** Huge thanks to all who helped us achieve the highest Crowdfunding total in history. Together we have achieved enough for my sister Louise to have her first year of life-saving treatment. The show must go on as we look forward to year 2 and beyond. Rosalind xx

I am Louise's eldest sister and we are a very close family. I am an opera singer (theatre plays a major role in the Plowright family). We lost our mother to cancer and our sister Marion is a cancer survivor. As a family we must beat Cancer.
