My story
A warm welcome to a true Hero...Agent A is saving our skins and filling in for Agent B - God's speed Agent B (Disavowed)!!
This year we're aiming to raise £2000 and are proud to be raising the money in aid of Derby Kids' Camp, Cancer Research UK and The British Heart Foundation.
Previously undercover as ‘Team EverFocus’ (2007 & 2009) but riding as ‘Team 00HEAVEN’ in the Irish Challenge(2010), the team has been assigned a new mission for 2011, we will be deployed into the heart of the French countryside in a bid to complete the Cahors Challenge!!
THE CHALLENGE...
The Cahors Challenge takes our team of four over 550 miles in three days in a bid to raising as much money as we possibly can for Derby Kids' Camp, Cancer Research UK and The British Heart Foundation.
We shall be heading out of Portsmouth on Wednesday evening (28October) to be faced with a crashing start on Thursday as soon as the board docks in St Malo...from there it’s pedal, pedal, pedal for three days through some beautiful Normandy scenery, a grinding ride along the Loire and Creuse rivers lulling us into a false sense of security before a lumpy and rather spectacular run (climb) to Limoges and Cahors (1 October). Hills, hills and more hills (this is Chris’ part!!)
THE NAME... (double ‘0’ heaven)
Each year's event ends with a celebration night for all the teams - an event which our team honourably dresses up for in our best tuxedos or evening gowns (depends on whether or not we've shaved our legs!). Based on the heckles of other 'less well dressed' teams that go something like... 'oi oi - it's James Bond!!' - the new team name was born - welcome to Team 00Heaven - who will be playing Bond themes at full volume from the support vehicle all the way 'round the whole route! (And if you donate enough the boys will be wearing evening gowns this year!).
Importantly, with all of the costs for the entire trip being met by the team members, every penny you donate will go directly to our supported charities! Please dig deep and show all the support you can...
We would also like to say a big Thank You to CIE-Group for continuing to support our endeavours as we leave our posts to pursue this worthy cause.
