Story
WELCOME FRIEND, TO THE CHIPEMBELE "10 FOR 10 CHEER SQUAD 2011" OFFICIAL FUNDRAISING PAGE!
In May 2001, the acting Chieftainess Kakumbi officiated at the opening of our Wildlife Education Centre on the banks of the Luangwa River. The late Chief Kakumbi was a visionary man, he kindly donated the land for us to build our centre and encouraged us greatly to meet our shared hope for the future.
Here we are in 2011 - celebrating 10 years of achievement.
Every year we provide...
- conservation and wildlife education classes for hundreds of primary and secondary school children at the centre.
- with the generous support of sponsors +/- 80 pupils who are orphaned, living with a disability or otherwise vulnerable are supported through their schooling.
- rescue, rehab and release for orphaned or injured wildlife
- an innovative Conservation Education Outreach Programme in the local schools and community with over 600 pupils engaged each week in extra curricular environmental and conservation education
- improvement projects in local schools including construction and renovation of school buildings, provision of desks, books, educational materials and equipment, sports equipment etc.
Help us celebrate our achievements and help us keep on keeping on!
Each year we do have wonderful supporters and donors, yet each year we still find ourselves needing to raise funds. This year is no different and we have raised only half our needed funding for the WIldlife Education Classes. Any funds in excess of the needed amount will be 100% used for our many programmes and projects in wildlife and conservation education and help us keep on keeping on not just for 2011 but onwards for the future of the young people and wildlife of South Luangwa!
