The Children’s Heart Federation (CHF) is the leading national charity championing children with heart conditions. CHF is dedicated in empowering these children, their families, and carers.

Story

Thank you for visting, if you've got this far you've hopefully worked out a few things... but to recap:

I was born with a heart condition known as teralogy of fallot, and had surgery as a child
I'm a trustee of the Children's Heart Federation, and i'm going to try and raise some money for them this year

Why raise money for CHF?

CHF means a lot to me, and its current campaign to make sure that heart children can participate in school sports as much as is possible.  I had thought that in the 25 years since I was at school things had improved, and that kids these days weren't made to do their homework in PE lessons, or made to pick up litter with those who'd forgotten their sports kit.

Unfortunately, things haven't improved enough, you can read more here.

What am I doing for your money?

Simple really - from 6 July 2009 until 5 July 2010 I will run and walk at least 1000km... That's 620 miles in a year.

Only the running and walking I do and record on either my running or walking GPS' will count, and so you can see how I am doing I'll be blogging and twittering as I go:

UPDATE

The 1000 km has come and gone... The target is now 1500km, and I've added a marathon run into the mix - yup, I'm going for the big one in Edinburgh on 23 May.

Thank you in advance

Paul
