"100 Rounds of Sparring"

Sunday 9 April 2006 - Open day to raise funds for BLISS

Dave Martin's School of Martial Arts & Fitness
Maidstone, Kent, United Kingdom

Junior members of the school will each be aiming to do 100 x 30 second rounds of punching/kicking against a "Wavemaster" (free-standing) punch bag.  A total of 50 minutes per child.

The adult members of the school will be attempting 100 x 45 second rounds of "free sparring" striking their respective opponents whilst wearing padded protection (to head, hands, shins, feet, mouth, and groin).  This will mean an hour & a quarter each.

We would be really grateful if anyone can spare a couple of pounds, or whatever you can afford, in sponsorship.

If anyone lives near Maidstone in Kent, feel free to come along on the day.
There will other fund-raising events & activities on the day such as a raffle, and face-painting (for the kids, and bigger kids, if desired).

Thank you for your time & any contribution you can make.

BLISS exists to increase the survival rate of babies born prematurely or sick in the UK and to ensure that each one has the best possible quality of life.  We are campaigning for improvements in neonatal care, working closely with Government and other key policymaking bodies.  We support parents and families through a wide range of support and information services.  And we promote new developments and innovations in care, by supporting health professional development and medical innovation, as well as helping the spread of good practice throughout the neonatal sector.
