100 Hours of Solitude · 4 November 2012

Arvon is a charity that works to ensure anyone can benefit from the transformative power of writing. We offer life-changing creative experiences to anyone who writes, from beginners to published writers, from school age upwards and from all backgrounds.

Story

I've foolishly volunteered to write whatever you want, live, on webcam, with every keystroke seen as it is made, while taking a vow of silence for 100 hours in Ted Hughes' old Yorkshire farmhouse. Every word I write will be released for free under a CC0 licence. It's all to raise money for Arvon's work with children's literacy and writing projects.

If I get enough work to keep me busy for the whole 100 hours, I probably won't sleep - which should be very entertaining for everyone.

I've made a short video explaining it all here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECgQ7pb-e-k.

The actual 100 hours will start on December 17th and run through to December 22nd. Right now is your chance to register your pre-orders and get me early on when I'm not too sleep-deprived.

So make a donation now and let me know what you'd like me to write. (You can send me a note when you make your donation. No porn, I'm afraid.) The more you give, the more of my time you get. Make me an offer. :)
