The ASICS Great British 10K rolls around again on Sunday 12th July 2009, and I have yet again gone and accidentally entered myself for it. You would have thought that after the first 10k and then the half marathon that I would know better by now, but apparently only smart people learn from their past...
Anyway, I am planning on beating my previous 10k time of 58 minutes (don't laugh, I was a beginner!) this year, and am running for a different charity called Boys Town Jerusalem. They are not hugely well-known, so hopefully this will raise a bit of awareness about who they are and what they do too.
Boys Town Jerusalem is one of Israel's leading educational residential developments. Over 800 boys aged between 12-20 study at Boys Town Jerusalem in Israel. Most come from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, broken homes, or from families devastated by bomb or missile attacks. Many boys even immigrate to Israel just to study at Boys Town, and then go on to join the IDF where they help to secure Israel's future.
If you want to know more about the charity, please just ask or visit their website: http://www.boystownjerusalem.org
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Friends of Boys Town Jerusalem gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thanks for your support!!
