Thank you for looking at my just giving site and thank you even more if you donate something no matter how small.

I compleated the 262 miles (10 marathons in 10 days) but after gaining an injury through a silly trip at just over 4 miles in the first marathon, the left leg muscles took a real beating and the hip took the full force everyday, step after painful step. With the amazing work of Roxy Pearson, Lucy Burn, Graham Theobold, Nicola Upward, Steven Lindley, Paul Talbott, Katie Payne and Maria Stansfield (the top class Physio's from Body Rehab) I made to the final day - just!!! I had a job to get on the start line as I was a mental wreck.

Why do it and what kept me going (apart from a promise to Aly we agreed we would not pull out no matter what and Phil who got me moving on the last marathon - Thank you and to the other wonderful 10 in 10 runners)? I was not doing it for myself but helping make a better life for others through the wonderful work Brathay do. I have my life and that's all I need, if I can use it to help others no matter what I have to go through I will.

During the 10 marathons it's, then and only then you fully understand the work Brathay do. As runners in a very close team day-after-day they become your second family and very best of friends, including all the supporters, Family, Physios and Brathay workers. You see and share others pain, love, pleasure and relef of making it to crossing that finish line (10 times). We each have a reason for doing it and can pat ourselves on the back, but the real reason is to help others and not be selfish. Telling myself this is not for me but for others got me on the start line everyday. Would I do it again? You bet 100% pain is temporary, helping others is for future and life.

Brathay's purpose is to enable children and young people to make positive choices by taking personal responsibility for improving their well-being. More information on the Brathay Hall Trust website www.brathaychallenge.com
