<p>I came into contact with One25 at the end of 2011 when I met their founder and was able to listen to their story. This left a resounding sense of calling to know more about and support their work. I heard about the "Give It Up For One25" challenge and decided this would be a great place to start.</p>
<p>Thanks to loads of suggestions by my friends on Facebook, it didn't take long to decide that I could give up speech for 125 hours (which is equivalent to five days) and I will be staggering the days over one week, on Saturday 7th, Monday 9th, Tuesday 10th, Friday 13th and Saturday 14th. For those who know me, know that, as one friend put it, "Gemma minus talking is like sugar minus sweet...you belong together!"</p>

Their work is a wholehearted response to a genuine need in society: they don't seek acclaim; they don't boast about what they do and all the incredible things they've already done; they just keep doing what they're doing because they know that no one deserves to be a victim of violence, a slave to addiction and hardpressed by poverty, all the while on the streets with a scewed sense of morality, self-image and personal worth...</p>
<p>They want to address and positively impact that and so do I.</p>
