Story

The Three Hungry Boys and River Cottage have teamed up to take on Fleet C.C. a charity fundraising game of cricket in July.

Thom, Tim and Trevor will be joined by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and a motley crew of River Cottage misfits on July 3 in a bid to defeat local dynamo club Fleet C.C and aim to raise £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Aside from the cricket, River Cottage catering, a licenced bar, raffles, auctions and other entertainment will make this family day out one to remember, so come along and support this great event. The game may well feature in the new River Cottage TV series, due in October.

Why Macmillan Cancer Support?

In 2009, Tim, Thom and Trevor went to make a show about living for a month whilst spending no money.

They were challenged by Hugh Fearnley Whittlingstall of River Cottage to enjoy holidaying on the west coast of Scotland; blagging, foraging, hunting, fishing and working for their dinner.

The show aired on channel 4 in 2010 and was a huge success.

Shortly after the show aired, Thom was diagnosed with colon cancer and following successful surgery underwent six months of intensive chemotherapy.

This Cricket Match event has been organised by Thom, his family and the Three Hungry Boys as a thank you to raise valuably needed funds for Macmillan who supported him, and many other patients and their families, both emotionally and financially through treatment.

Thom would like you to donate to and support this event and Macmillan. Please give what you can!
