In 2012, I completed a London to Paris charity cycle ride. With your amazing support we managed to raise nearly a thousand pounds for Bliss and Marie Curie.

 In 2014 I’d like to try and do something to raise money again, something a little more testing. 

You might remember the story, my son, Ross was born very premature. He’s fine now, and at college playing rugby, drinking (probably, I’m in denial), whilst developing and employing his dual superpowers of brute force and ignorance whenever suitable, and often, when most unsuitable. He was lucky, we were lucky, some premature babies and families are not. 

Bliss is the charity for babies born too soon, too small and too sick. They support parents, families, healthcare workers, neonatal units,  plus campaign and lobby politicians and government to make sure premature and sick babies get the best possible chance of life.

In 2013 I will have managed to cycle around 11,250 miles. Which was hard, a constant effort, physically and mentally challenging, but clearly not enough. 

In 2014 I’m going to try and cycle 13,000 miles. That’s the equivalent of 198,956 football pitches and 250 miles a week, every week of the year.  

I’ll be posting daily and weekly ride information, insights and general nonsense, so you can see ’live’ and in ‘real time’ how mind numbingly dull I am, and how hard this challenge really is!
