At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I am drawing 100,000 1 Minute Portraits of people who will then hopefully donate at least £1 to Alzheimer's Society here or by texting MEMO60 £[amount] to 70070.

My Dad died on Friday 13th June 2014. He had been suffering from Vascular Dementia and complications associated with it.

There was a point where Dad forgot a face in a minute, you could literally walk out of the room to fetch something and he’d have forgotten you were there. Eventually Dad couldn't recognise any of us. It helped me to truly understand how precious our shared experiences are, how vital memory is, it's the glue that binds, it's partly what love is made of.
