Thanks for visiting our 1 in 10 Appeal page!

A staggering 1 in 10 women have endometriosis - that's 2 million women in the UK. For those of you who haven't heard of endometriosis (you're not alone, 80% of the UK's population haven't either) it happens when cells like those in the lining of the womb grow elsewhere in the body. Each month this causes internal bleeding and severe pain that can devastate the lives of those affected.

Endometriosis UK works hard to raise awareness of endometriosis. Whilst there has been good progress with more and more articles in the press, over half of people who contact us have never spoken to anyone with the disease before.  And there are still long delays in getting a diagnosis.  This is unacceptable – women deserve better.

Our helpline and local groups are run by our amazing volunteers who lend a supportive ear to women who need to talk through their symptoms or their next operation and stop people having to cope with their symptoms alone. Our services need to grow to cope with demand.  Our helpline misses 75% of calls and over 500 women a year contact us about attending a local group but there isn’t currently one in their area and so are still coping with their symptoms alone.  Our services are so important to women, and yet they are entirely funded by voluntary donations.  We do not currently get any support from the government.

Please support our work and help us expand our services and raise more awareness by making a donation to our appeal today.

Here's how far your money can go..

£1 = a person can access support on our message-board

£5 = a volunteer information manual

£10 = a start up pack for a new group

£20 = give someone the chance to benefit from a local group

£25 = answer a life changing call to our helpline

If you could make a donation of any size, you will help to stop others from suffering alone. Thank you!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
