In 2012-13, BGL will support Plan UK in its work to build two pre-school centres in Guatemala. The pictures on our page show the current teaching environment, which is in desperate need of investment.

 

 

 

50% of the population in Guatemala live in poverty and education is the key to improving their lives.

 

 

 Currently, 1.5 million children under the age of six in Guatemala have no pre-primary education, which makes entering the formal school system and staying in school very challenging. Only 1% of children receive any pre-school educational in the vital years between 0-4 years old

On the 18th May we will be competing in the BGL Dragon Boat Tournament on the Rowing Lake, Ferry Meadows, Peterborough to raise funds for this worthwhile cause.
