The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) is one of the world's top cancer research organisations as well as being the home of the Everyman male cancer campaign. With the ICR working in all areas of cancer research from genetics through to drug development, its male cancer campaign, Everyman, focuses specifically on raising awareness and funds for research into prostate and testicular cancer. Story

Thanks for visiting my page.

In June I completed the 2009 OSTAR-the original single-handed race across the North Atlantic between Plymouth and Newport, Rhode Island, against the prevailing winds and currents. During my adventure I encountered whales, dolphins, icebergs and severe gales. I had to deal with gear breaking, but I was relatively lucky, taking 25 days. Other competitors took much longer, and one had to adandon his yacht, and was rescued by a container ship.

I took part in my Swan 36 "Banjaard", a small family cruising yacht.  For more information about this great challenge and to read about the  please go to www.jamorph.com/blogstar/johnfalla which has lots of photographs, and sound recordings from the North Atlantic.

I am hoping to raise a considerable amount for the Institute of Cancer Research, a cause I feel passionately about.

I am meeting all of the costs of preparing and taking part in the OSTAR, SO ALL MONEY DONATED HERE GOES DIRECTLY from Just Giving to The Institue of Cancer Research so please, if you can,  support this excellent cause.

Many thanks.
