After the success of last year’s event, we are once again embarking on our Mileathon challenge to have fun and spread awareness of Worcester Snoezelen. Our fundraising event in May is an opportunity for the users of the Worcester Snoezelen centre to get involved with raising funds. At Snoezelen we emphasise ability rather than disability and the event allows individuals to achieve the 'unachieveable'! We aim to have service users, staff, families and friends collectively try to cover 200 miles in one day!
As with all of our activities we aim to make the event inclusive and accessible to all levels of participation. This means some people may be sponsored to take part in the event for 10 minutes only, because that 10 minutes might be equivalent to your 10 hours! This year promises an Olympic vibe with various Olympic games being spread out around the course. Boccia, Kurling and many more games will give people the opportunity to stop and try something new.
Children and adults who have varying disabilities will be making the effort to do their bit. If you would like to encourage our determined crew then please dig deep and donate today. For more information please contact the Snoezelen Centre. Thank you for your support!
