Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

UPDATE:

Ride completed! After a wet and windy ride the cyclist eventually finished at Lands End to sunshine and champayne! Having successfully completed the grueling ride from John O'Groats to Lands End. We hope that people will continue to support this worthy cause as we lead up to the Charity Ball on November 16th.

Thank you for those who have supported us so far!

Two Men and a Little Lady is a team of five Paramedics from Dorset raising money for The Fortuneswell Cancer Trust. Three cyclist and two support drivers will depart from John O Groats on September 10 finishing in Lands End on Sunday 22 September. Also, we are hosting a Ball with silent auction with entertainment.

The Fortuneswell Cancer Trust works closely with Dorset County Hospital to improve and develop cancer care and facilities. Due to fundraising efforts and donations the Fortuneswell Cancer Trust has been able to help finance the new chemotherapy unit, assist in financing the new dedicated Fortuneswell Ward which is dedicated to cancer inpatients and has contributed to the new digital mammography scanner.

The Fortuneswell Cancer Trust is currently raising money for the new en-suite isolation rooms required within phase two of the ward development. The charity also supports staff development, smaller items of equipment and daily comforts for outpatients in the form of daily news papers.

Between us we have had family members that became poorly before the Fortuneswell Cancer Trust was in place and since then cancer has effected loved ones after the charity was founded and it is great to see patients and family members being able to be supported in their community.

About the charity

The Fortuneswell Cancer Trust aims to improve the Cancer facilities at Dorset County Hospital, to support training, education and research in cancer management, and to facilitate in any way possible the care and welfare of cancer patients in the locality.
