Something that I think you would love to hear is that my 9 year old son Alex Moore is doing the Colour Run 5k in London in June. Each K you run you get sprayed a different beautiful colour. These include orange, yellow, blue and pink. The finishing K you are covered in all the colours at once. We have decided that with every K we run and with each colour we encounter, it is going to represent something we believe in and something that we are celebrating. To celebrate Happiness, Health, Hope and Resilience for the children of Syria. We are doing it to be thankful of what I have, to push ourselves without moaning, and to raise awareness for the children of Syria who have no voice.

From every £1 you give us we spend 88p to benefit children  - 11p to raise the next £1, and the other penny goes on governance and other costs.

 

I have chosen to raise money for Save the Children Charity. They have already reached over 400,000 refugee children and their familes and another 163,000 across Syria. The AMAZING staff and partners are risking their lives to deliver lifesaving aid across the different areas in Syria they quote "our humanitarian impartiality is often our only and our best defense."

 

Save the Children are also working across Iraq, Lebanon and Jordan to provide support to families affected by the conflict. Delivering food, warm clothing and helping children come to terms with their horrific experiences.

 

Children caught in fighting in Syria are being killed, maimed, and denied access to food and medicine as the number of child refugees fleeing the civil war tops ONE million!! More than 7,000 children are dead! Hundreds of children have been murdered last week by gas and other scared children are fleeing! 

 

Children have died by the roadside as growing numbers of desperate families flee Syria's bloody civil war. 

 

Save the Children spoke to civilians who have recently fled the country who told of a "death journey" on which some children were separated from their parents, a 12-year-old boy being left behind to die on his own after his mother was killed and he became too weak to continue the journey due to shrapnel wounds.

 

Another family reported the death of a baby who died in the heat after being separated from her mother as they fled across the border. Save the Children also received reports of children being targeted by sniper fire, forced to take flight under heavy shelling and driven to licking moisture from leaves in a desperate attempt to stave off thirst in the searing heat.
